After months of anticipation, Cava has finally opened its doors. Students and College Park residents gleefully waited in line hoping they would be one of the first 150 guests to receive a free meal. Those waiting in line were entertained by the UMD marching band, cheerleaders and even Testudo! Cava, founded in Rockville and now a nationwide chain, is the brainchild of three first-generation Greek Americans who wanted to bring authentic Mediterranean flavors with a modern twist to a wider audience. If you go to Cava, you’ll find a dizzying array of delicious menu items to build a customized healthy and flavorful meal at this “chef casual” restaurant.

Wings Over lands in College Park

The fast-food restaurant, Wings Over, offers fresh chicken wings, chicken tenders and sandwiches in more than 20 different flavors, and is one of three new restaurants to open in the Terrapin Row retail space.

The new restaurant features a menu in line with the regional chain’s latest rebranding effort; Wings Over currently sells dry-rubbed or sauce-covered wings, fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and other snack favorites.

SeoulSpice is now open!

The fast-casual chain, which serves organic Korean food, is now open next to the Amazon store in the Terrapin Row apartment complex. SeoulSpice dishes are made with house-made marinades, organic tofu and local chicken. It will offer several forms of Korean comfort food from korritos, a Korean-style sushi burrito, to street tacos, and the menu is 100 percent gluten-free.

College Park is SeoulSpice’s third location in the greater D.C. area. In 2016, SeoulSpice debuted in NoMa, not far from Gallaudet University, followed by its location in Tenleytown, near American University, which opened in November of last year.
