Another Pizza Option Set to Open in Downtown This Week

Opening on Thursday, August 29th, in the Terrapin Station shopping block, Slices Pizza Co. hopes to differentiate themselves from the other pizza options in Downtown by offering more than just your traditional slice. At any given time, patrons will find 12 or more pizza varieties to sample ranging from The Mona Lisa (mozzarella, grilled vegetables – eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, goat cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze) to The Taco Loco (refried beans, mozzarella, cheddar, taco beef, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and tortilla strips). Beyond pizza, the restaurant offers several panini and salad options plus the unique pizza log – stuffed pretzels with the claim of being “highly addictive.”

The entire menu focuses on fresh ingredients, including secret recipe dough that is made from scratch daily. Slices uses locally-sourced vegetables whenever possible and provides several vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

In celebration of their opening, Slices is giving away free slices for up to one year for guests that dine between August 29th and September 8th and enter the contest. The College Park location is their second store following the opening of a location in Greensboro, NC earlier this year.

With their interesting pizza (and non-pizza) combinations, do you think they can find a niche among the crowded pizza market? What’s your current favorite in Downtown?
