CPNBA Discount Card? Is that some type of health care program?

It may not form a catchy acronym like SCUBA or SONAR, but the College Park Neighborhood Business Alliance hopes to grab the attention of local business owners and patrons. Incorporated in August 2011, the group’s mission is to create a more vibrant and healthy economy through support of Buy Local efforts, including cooperative promotion, advertising, and other activities. CPNBA currently has 10 member businesses and holds networking events, which are open to the public, every few months to provide a setting for local businesses to interact.

CPNBA works closely with the City of College Park, as evidenced by the recent release of a discount card. The cards allow patrons to access deals at a variety of independent businesses, which are then posted online and updated regularly. As of today, there are 12 participating businesses and many more are expected to add deals in the near future.

If you would like a card, which are free, please stop by City Hall, or one of the participating businesses later in the week.
