Welcome to College Park Lidl!

Lidl, a grocery store company based in Germany, opened one of its first locations in the U.S. in College Park. The company (pronounced “leedle”) prides itself on its high quality products, low prices, and its efficient and enjoyable shopping experience. This is no cookie-cutter grocery store – it is designed to help customers get in an out quickly and easily. It also offers more than just food, including small appliances or kitchen gadgets, to stylish gear for the whole family, to toys and power tools, to home décor and gardening supplies, and much more. Lidl also manages to partner with local and regional farms and suppliers, while also offering new favorites and flavors from all over the world.

Gong Cha opens under terrapin row

Gong Cha teas can be blended with a variety of fruits, toppings and creative mixes. Gong Cha prides itself on offering fresh tea and toppings to our customer’s everyday by keeping their tea and tapioca pearls are fresh every four hours. Bubble tea is their specialty and they are excited to have their customers enjoy a great cup of tea with Gong Cha.

Downtown College Park welcomes CB Chinese Grill

The owners and operators of College Park’s bustling Northwest Chinese Food has opened their second restaurant in College Park. The restaurant serves traditional Chinese food called Chun Bing, or “spring pancake,” a cuisine unique to the northern China as well. The spring pancakes are wrapped around traditionally seasoned veggies and meats. If you’ve enjoyed Northwest Chinese Food, be sure to check out this new restaurant.

T-Swirl Crepe opens on Baltimore Avenue

This Japanese crepe franchise chose College Park as its second location in Maryland because the owner, Bryan Hu, believed the student body and surrounding community was open-minded and eager to try new healthy food options. T-Swirl Crepes offers 25 varieties of crepes, ranging from savory and meaty to sweet and fruity, in addition to vegetarian and gluten free offerings. Located in the heart of Downtown College Park, T-Swirl Crepes will no doubt soon become a community favorite.

Playa Bowls opens in College Park

Playa Bowls is College Park’s most recent addition to increasingly popular fast-casual açai bowl establishments. The founders were inspired to start the company after falling in love with the açai and pitaya bowls they encountered while surfing in Hawaii, California and Central America. The College Park location is their first in Maryland, and offers a variety of super-food bowls, smoothies and juices.

Taqueria Habanero

Taqueria Habanero, one of D.C.’s most beloved taquerias, is opening their first new restaurant in none other than College Park. The restaurant is renowned for its authentic Mexican cuisine, with its owners Mirna and Dio Montero having worked for acclaimed D.C. chef José Andrés before opening their first location in 2014. The College Park location will have an expanded menu, including new taco and entree options, as well as a weekend brunch menu.

CAVA OPENS ITS DOORS WITH FANFARE

After months of anticipation, Cava has finally opened its doors. Students and College Park residents gleefully waited in line hoping they would be one of the first 150 guests to receive a free meal. Those waiting in line were entertained by the UMD marching band, cheerleaders and even Testudo! Cava, founded in Rockville and now a nationwide chain, is the brainchild of three first-generation Greek Americans who wanted to bring authentic Mediterranean flavors with a modern twist to a wider audience. If you go to Cava, you’ll find a dizzying array of delicious menu items to build a customized healthy and flavorful meal at this “chef casual” restaurant.

Wings Over lands in College Park

The fast-food restaurant, Wings Over, offers fresh chicken wings, chicken tenders and sandwiches in more than 20 different flavors, and is one of three new restaurants to open in the Terrapin Row retail space.

The new restaurant features a menu in line with the regional chain’s latest rebranding effort; Wings Over currently sells dry-rubbed or sauce-covered wings, fried chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, and other snack favorites.

SeoulSpice is now open!

The fast-casual chain, which serves organic Korean food, is now open next to the Amazon store in the Terrapin Row apartment complex. SeoulSpice dishes are made with house-made marinades, organic tofu and local chicken. It will offer several forms of Korean comfort food from korritos, a Korean-style sushi burrito, to street tacos, and the menu is 100 percent gluten-free.

College Park is SeoulSpice’s third location in the greater D.C. area. In 2016, SeoulSpice debuted in NoMa, not far from Gallaudet University, followed by its location in Tenleytown, near American University, which opened in November of last year.

Dunkin’ Donuts is among six new businesses coming to Terrapin Row

Dunkin Donuts, have opened their second franchise location within
College Park. Also coming soon to Terrapin Row are SeoulSpice, Wings
Over, Cheers Cut, Poki District and Gong Cha who have all signed leases
for the vacant ground floor space. There has been no word on when the
other businesses are expected to open.
