The City and University to Host Outdoor Concert & Movie Night

The Downtown Summer Concert Series kicked off this past Saturday on a lovely night in South Gate Park with Harp 46. While the concert series will continue each Saturday in July, circle your calendars for the final night on July 27th. After the concert ends, the University of Maryland is providing additional entertainment in the form of an outdoor movie on Chapel Field at sundown (approximately 8:30pm)

The movie, 42 – The Jackie Robinson Story, tells the story of the legendary baseball player that became the first African-American to break baseball’s color barrier. The movie focuses primarily on Robinson’s first season in Major League Baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The movie is rated PG-13 and received positive reviews from over 75% of critics on Rottentomatoes.com.
