Named one of TIME magazine’s 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America, Anthony Romero is the Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union, the nation’s premier defender of civil and human rights.

He is both the first Latino and openly gay man to serve in that capacity, and the first member of his family to graduate from high school. He is also a graduate of Stanford Law School and Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public Policy and International Affairs.
