There may be other pizza joints in the area, but Pizza Roma offers a one of a kind combination of brick oven pizza with low prices, Halal meats, and more – such as a fresh 8-inch sub with a soda for under $5.00

Customers come from far and wide to eat at Pizza Roma because of its reputation for crispy brick oven pizza with fresh toppings. The steak, chicken, hamburger, and meatballs on the pizza pies and sandwiches are all prepared fresh and spiced in house, and processed and slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law.

Pizza Roma is glad to accommodate different customers’ preferences by customizing your pizza toppings or what goes on your sandwich. Meat lovers are excited by the variety of fresh hand-made meats, while vegetarians, vegans, and customers with dairy allergies will be glad to know that Pizza Roma uses a simple marinara sauce and will make your pizza with or without cheese; they’re even considering providing a soy cheese option in the near future.

In the decade that it has called the Hollywood shopping center that it shares with MOM, REI, and other independent shops, Pizza Roma has quickly become a local – and regional favorite. Customers come from all over Maryland, D.C., and Virginia for its unique menu and fresh Halal toppings. Not only does Pizza Roma offer brick oven pizza, but also subs, Italian cold-cut sandwiches, gyros, and falafel sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, onion, and tahini.

Thanks to Pizza Roma’s long hours, customers are happy to not only be able to get sandwiches for lunch and pizzas for dinner, but also breakfast. Omelets, ham and cheese sandwiches, hotcakes and French toast are available daily in the morning. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, Pizza Roma has cheesecake, chocolate cake, hand-dipped ice cream, milkshakes, and “Ali’s famous bean pie”– custard pie-like dessert made from sweet creamed white navy beans.

Shop owner Abdul Baig can be seen waving to neighborhood kids, making sandwiches, and sitting down to chat with customers on a daily basis. He’s a friendly guy without aspirations of turning Pizza Roma into a huge franchise. Baig declares that they’re “happy to be a neighborhood store” and committed to “accommodating the neighborhood and making them happy with our service. Because of that he’s always talking to customers and listening to their ideas on what food Pizza Roma offers and trying out new foods like samosas and smoothies to gauge customer demand.

As the only restaurant in the REI shopping center in Hollywood – and as an establishment with a great reputation for fresh food, good service, and long hours – its easy to sit down for or take out a tasty meal when you plan your next trip to MOM, Mighty Healthy Pet, After School Karate, College Park Florist or any other number of shops in the center.
