With the onset of winter and cold weather, some of you may be singing the blues; which is a lot less fun than listening to them. Luckily this Saturday there’s a home remedy in store that can’t be beat. It’s the 6th Annual College Park Blues Festival featuring:
– Daddy Mack Blues Band – bringing the blues from Memphis, TN (Washington Post Going Out Guide features Daddy Mack Blues Band)
– Stacy Brooks Blues Band – DCBS Battle of the Bands Winner – help send them to Memphis for the International Blues Challenge (the ‘American Idol’ of the Blues)
– DC Blues Society Band – featuring talented songstress Ayaba Bey
– Little Bit a Blues – Piedmont Blues with National Endowment for the Arts recipient Warner Williams and WAMMIE Lifetime Achievement Winner Jay Summerour
These great bands and singers are premier in the world of blues and a good show is absolutely guaranteed. As if that were not enough to entice you out, entry and parking is complete free, there’s food and beverages to go with the show, and there are some excellent door prizes being offered. Prizes include:
